I am responsible for copy-editing news articles across all beats, including arts, news, opinion, and politics, based on the Guardian’s style guide. I also write headlines and captions, and liaise between several editorial departments.

I pitched and wrote web articles centered around fashion, entertainment, and culture. I interviewed relevant cultural figureheads, such as content creators. I conducted research on trends, current events, and social media that best connected with our target audience. I also regularly participated in editorial meetings across several of BDG’s verticals.

I wrote articles, often demanding quick turnaround, on art, fashion, music, entertainment, and features for their website and print issues. I also furthered others' stories by fact-checking, transcribing interviews, conducting research, and providing background information. I also drafted Instagram captions, where I provided biographical information on the interviewees from their print editions and selected key quotes for the highest engagement. I was also involved in their events and productions, where I assisted on photoshoot sets and helped work with their launch parties and other publication events.

I interned on The Boston Globe's news copy desk, where I copyedited articles for the daily print issue, managed copy flow, proofread designed pages, wrote captions and headlines, trimmed articles to fit the budgeted space, and made suggestions to update and improve the publication's style guide.

I independently worked on the department-wide weekly newsletter, which involves conducting research, communicating with department members, and writing clean copy. I also assisted faculty members in their personal projects. I provided edits on both online articles for the Five Cent Sound staff, a magazine that focuses on local and underground music. I read student articles and gave them multiple rounds of edits to improve structure and elaborate on important ideas as well as more general copyedits to take their writing to the next level. I also helped manage the magazine's blog, which regularly uploads content, by approving pitches, ensuring editors are assigned to each piece, managing the copy flow, and getting articles published and matched with an artist. I fielded all incoming pitch emails from publicists and added them to an ongoing document to track potential opportunities for writers.

After being a staff writer for several semesters, I became editor of the City section of Atlas Magazine. I headed the copyediting section of Your Magazine, Emerson College's only monthly magazine for over two years. I assigned articles to my team of copyeditors, reviewed every article for the print editions and online blog, and communicated with every department during production to ensure things ran smoothly.

I ran the Opinion section of The Berkeley Beacon, Emerson College’s only, student-run newspaper. I curated and edited all opinion columns, in addition to contributing pieces of my own. I also co-authored weekly editorials for our print issue with the managing editors.

I led a staff across three class sections, approximately 40 students, in my high school's print and online news publication. There, I edited every article, in addition to writing my own for every content area. I ran weekly staff meetings to receive progress updates and encourage communication from everyone. I also handled the majority of the technical elements, including taking photos, designing for our print editions, editing video content, and creating social media posts. In my junior and senior years, I collaborated with my high school's film department to create two topical documentaries.
